(영문) Understanding the Adoption of Hyperautomation in Firms: Perspectives on User Resistance and the Integration of RPA and Generative AI
4. Abstract
The dissertation explores the dual aspects of understanding user resistance to robotic process automation (RPA) and advancing automation capabilities through the integration of Generative AI and RPA, proposing a comprehensive framework for hyperautomation. The first study investigates user acceptance of RPA by examining the influence of resistance attitudes on intentions to adopt this automation technology. Utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and user resistance theory, a structural equation model (SEM) analyzes survey data from 309 participants. Findings reveal that subjective norms significantly encourage RPA adoption, while resistance attitudes, particularly those driven by dehumanization, pose substantial barriers. These insights contribute to understanding the psychological factors influencing RPA acceptance, offering valuable implications for organizations aiming to foster hyperautomation adoption. The second study focuses on advancing automation by integrating RPA with Generative AI to address the limitations of traditional automation technologies. A theoretical framework is developed to demonstrate how this integration enhances structured and unstructured data processing, real-time optimization, and decision-making efficiency. Simulation scenarios highlight the framework's potential to accelerate digital transformation, optimize workflows, and improve user satisfaction. This research also identifies ethical considerations and offers practical recommendations for scalable applications across various industries, positioning the framework as a pivotal driver of organizational efficiency and innovation in the era of hyperautomation. By combining these two perspectives, the dissertation not only examines the psychosocial factors influencing automation adoption but also provides a transformative framework to push the boundaries of automation technology.
